Thermal perception in outdoor urban spaces under the Mediterranean climate of Annaba, Algeria

Many studies were investigated to grade outdoor thermal comfort and related sensation during the past years. This study aims explore conditions in hot Mediterranean climate (Csa), which annually includes 1100–1700 cooling degree days 1200–1800 heating (CDD = 1100–1700, HDD 1200–1800). research tested human by applying Physiological Equivalent Temperature (PET) index. A field survey of 1230 interviewees was conducted Annaba, Algeria, four environments having same morphology different green cover. The scientific method involved combining two software. Envi-met used calibrate microclimatic data (air temperature, wind velocity, relative humidity mean radiant temperature); comparison, RayMan calculate PET. results showed neutral range for this varies between 20 °C 26 °C. highest scores recorded spaces with vegetation cover, involves trees effect enhancing comfort, especially hours day. air temperature divergence reached 4 3 T mrt at noon, considered day's hottest hour. findings also highlight existence a adaptation • physiological equivalent is PET assessment combined software package (Envi-met Rayman) (Csa).
